After her long-term relationship broke down when Natalie was 35, she decided to go it alone and embark on becoming a mother using a sperm donor. A year into her journey, Natalie became sick with a neurological illness that left her unable to walk, and her quest for a child was put on hold as she refocused her efforts on learning to walk again.
